Chicago native Steve Ferkau is 48-years-old. He has lived with cystic fibrosis his entire life. Steve's life changed 8 years ago when he received a new set of lungs from a young girl named Kari.

This is Steve's story about Kari, his lung transplant and the gift that gave him a fresh breath of life.

Hello Steve, I am very happy for you, I know what it is like when a famly goes thru all the grief and still thinks of others. We are the fourtate ones, and we also grive along with the family. It is an emotional rollercoster. In my case a family lost their little girl and still gave a gift to others while going thru their greif, and that was in 1974 when most people wouldn't have thought of it.
It is strange that you call it A Circle of LIfe. I desinged a T-shirt several years ago that has "Another Circle of LIfe" with a circle of "Organ Donor - Transplant Recipient - Life-" and the word Life is the same as in "Another Circle of Life".
