That's great news! No surprise regarding the appetite. It will get better. Any word on the recipient of her liver?

Well its day 4 and things continue to progress ... moved out of step down and into a regular room and off most of her lines etc. Not much appetite but has to eat to take her pills now that the pain pump is disconnected. Thank you to all for your encouragement and kind words ... Lina will love this when she gets home!

I'm a newbie here but wanted to let you all know that my wife finally got her phone call last night ... a cadaver liver was finally ready!

After a rush to the hospital and a long night of waiting, we got the word that the liver was suitable for transplant and that the operation would be a go at 10:30am this morning.

We'll know more in 6-7 hours. We're asking for prayers for the family of the donor who are grieving now but must be happy that the decision to sign his/her donor card was a lasting gift for several other people they would never know but who would all be eternally grateful.

My wife's condition is unique in that she is also a donor ... her liver is fully functioning and suitable for transplant, its just not good in her body anymore - its a long story, maybe we'll tell you about that part when things calm down - so Lina is BOTH a recipient AND donor. So there is another family waiting outside an adjacent operating room as my wife's liver is transplanted into another person. Please pray for them as well.

Many thanks - Marshall Spencer
