oh, ok trying to live life...but its hard! I tire so easy, kinda afraid to leave the phone because who knows when the next call will come. Everyone says be patient they are waiting for the perfect heart but its hard. How are you doing 6 years out? Are things back to normal for you?
Yes, My transplant center is New York Presbyterian Hospital in the city. A LVAD is a left ventrical assisted device. Like a mechanical heart. A pump is implanted in your chest attached to your heart. I drive line comes out your side and is attached to a device. You have to wear it on your hip with 2 batteries or be attached to a PBU unit. The batteries lasts about 3 hours before u have to change it. I'm always on batteries unless i'm sleeping then u have to go on the pbu unit. It saved my life. Its not as bad as it sounds :-)
Hi Bruce. I am on a heart transplant list a little over a year now. I have a LVAD and doing ok at home with it.. I am getting very anxious. How long did u have to wait?
