Hi Tracy! Yes I live near Mt. Shasta. The dinner train stopped running in January this year :( Such a bummer. My liver is doing pretty well. I am only 11 weeks out but feel pretty good.

Tracy,

Hello, hello my fellow kidney/pancreas recipient aka #3. LOL !! This is Alex #10 from Vegas. Glad to hear from you, but obviously I am concerned about your organs. I'm rooting and praying for you so hang in there. Have you heard or contacted anyone else in our top ten group? So far you have been my only contact for the past 5 years or even longer. But it's really good to hear from you. Pls. keep me posted. Thanks. Alex Soria

Wow, what a story, you have certainly been through a lot. I had my SPK in 2004- so going on 6 years insulin free. I had a very young donor, so they told me I had a better chance of keeping my organs longer. It is very encouraging to hear that you had your first pancreas for 18 years. It gives me hope.

So sorry it took me so long to accept the friend request. It has been a long hard struggle for my husband and I have not been on here in quite a long while. Tom got his kidney pancreas transplant June 19th 2009. The transplant has gone smoothly but he has continued to have other severe problems. He started suffering with EXTREMELY low blood pressure last Sept and has been hospitalzed every month with it. Finally in Feb. the doctors told him there was nothing more they could do and he would have to resign himself to being wheelchair and bedbound. He passed out if he stood up and also if he sat up for very long. Thank God he is now able to walk a ittle bit. Prayers are powerful. Now he is fighting a bad infection and is having surgery tomorrow to remove the infected tissue. I will try to check in more frequently. Your story is an inspiration.

Martha's vineyard is definately cool. Very busy in the summer! I went there much more when I was young and healthy enough to ride a bike. But I will get well enough to do that again this summer. I no longer live in Boston. I now live in Boulder Colorado. Gotta update that profile!
