Hi I've been a member of the cafe of a long time. Fisrt it was for Cirrhosis of the Liver. Since then I was told I have COPD. I'm told it's fairly comon to have both, but I can't find anyone with both? If anyone here has bad luck like I seem to. Please contact me. I feel alone! MIKE

Hi Tiffany  Sorry to here you are having other problems like I am. I sent a friends request but forgot to and a message. From what little I understand about PAH I think it is treatable? I hope your heart test gomes out fine. I be more than glad to talk to you more. Until then hope all goes well. MIKE

I have Cirrhosis and COPD. I don't no if it is fairly common or not but I also have PAH and they say that having Cirrhosis can cause that. Just had test done on my heart I find out the results Tue.

Hi Mike.  My husband had cirrhosis but didn't have COPD.  He got cirrhosis from Hep C.  I know what you mean though about feel alone.  I think most people who are waiting for a transplant feel that way.  I know I did and I wasn't even the one needing the transplant.  Just remember though you are not alone.  My husband's transplant hospital actually has group sessions for peoplel pre and post liver transplant.  It is set up by the social workers.  My husband was ready to go about a week before he got his new liver.  He was in so much pain and that he could barely get out of bed.  This was from the chemo treatements he had though and not the actual liver disease.  He really thought he was going to die.  He never did make it to a meeting though because he received his new liver a few days after he decided to go.  Just remember, there are caring and loving people on this board and I think all of us have gone through that lonliness period at some point.  Please feel free to e-mail me if you want to talk.  I will try and respond asap.  God Bless

Painful mouth tissues - not just thrush this time

Hello All! I am Suzanne and am medically "well" since the liver transplant in February 2010. I so can relate to the majority of everyone's issues post transplant and most likely medication related side effects. Lately my biggest problem has been my sore mouth tissue - as my dentist call it "dry tissue". This is the absolute worst it has ever been! I have the liquid Nystatin for the thrush but it seems to not be helping at all. Started using coconut oil (since the pulled all my teeth pre-transplant I don't think I can legitimately call it "pulling"). It helps to coat the tissues for awhile, but it is limited.  Today I picked up some raw honey from the local Farmers' Market and will be trying it out shortly. Anyone else relate to this problem?  I know I don't visit this site often, haven't been here since last year. I seem to show up in desperation to tell the truth because no one else gets us, you know what I mean? My husband is comforting as he can be, but it's not what I am looking…See More
