TransplantCafe.com - The Gift of eLife!

Hi everyone sorry i haven't been on i guess you can say i have been feeling better so i haven't spent a lot of time in front of the computer. Well I started my radiation treatments this past Monday, i go Mon - Fri for 7 weeks, but i am almost threw the first week so after tomorrow 6 weeks left. I am not having the bad nausea, but i have had prob with my bowels, and tired all the time. but just glad to get this done and over with. I found out how lucky I was to get the liver transplant the tumor they removed on the back side of my liver was 6.5 centimeters and they usually only will consider doing transplants to patients with under 5 cm. tumors. But since they already had my liver out the couldn't put it back. Thats why i think i was lucky.

Happy and sad you have to go threw this. So your tumor is out with your liver taken out right? They are just doing this to kill anything that might have stayed within? Glad that you posted I was thinking about you. The Man next to me in ICU didn't get a new Liver due to what I could hear he also had a tumor. I often wonder if I ended up with the Liver he couldn't get... Blessings I Will Keep You In My Prayers Happy Holidays Cathy

I am glad to hear that you are feeling better. I hope that the rest of your treatments will go well and prove to be very effective. My heart rejoices too in the fact that you still got a new liver despite the size of your tumor on the former liver. I wish you only the best of health as you go onward, and I will be sure to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. May you be given the strength and enough smiles to make it through these coming weeks of treatment. Best of wishes.
