- I became ill at the age of 36. I had two heart attacks and did not know it. I developed CHF and enlarged heart and a leaking valve. Most of the heart muscle was dead. As the years went by my health began to go down hill and I knew I slowly slipping away. I was put on the transplant list in 2002 but was taken off several times for different reasons. I was finally put back on in november and received my gift in May 2003
