- i AM UNABLE TO WORK , I AM ANEMIC REALLY BAD AND I AM REALLY TIRED ALL THE TIME, I HAVE MAJOR DEPRESSION.

- I had type 1 diabeties for 17yrs. i did some research and found out about the pancreas transplant only. my diabetic did not want this at all. i could no longer live with the high and low blood sugars. i found out about dr Stratta .i was placed on a waiting list for about 1 year. i had to quit my job prior to the transplant. i was not able to get out of the bed. i recevied the call on new years day. i was transplant on Jan 2, 2003. i had one rejection . my pancreas is doing ok. the Drs keep up with creatin level . that is something that worries me . i have stories that the transplant only will only last about 5 or 6 years. i dont know what i would do if it failed

I'm writing because we have the same transplant surgeon, Dr. Stratta. I hope that you are doing better these days. I got both a kidney and pancreas. While I was in Winston-Salem, I got addicted to both Moravian cookies and Moravian chicken pie. And I love not being diabetic! Hope you do too.

My transplanted Pancreas (feb 17, 1990) lasted 18 1/2 years!:) and now I am getting listed for another (kidney &) and Pancreas transplant. Make sure you drink good fluids....water, juice, herb tea, etc. also walking is so good for the Pancreas~~~you hang in there and God bless you...Tracy
