I was transplanted on 10/22/12. I am on 5 mg. of prednisone, prograf, mifortin for rejection. I'm on sensipar for my parathyroid. I am experiencing alot of hair loss. I see it all over my floor. Has anyone experienced this? If so, what were you advised to do? Thanks for any advice!

On October 21st @9:30 p.m. I got a call from Jackson Memorial that they had a perfect match! I was transplanted on the 22nd. Home and doing well! Release after 5 days.

Deborah: I read your blog and when you say your kidney is huge and protuding, are you talking about your lower abdomen being rounded out? I have had two kidney transplant and my second one came from my husband. I am only 4'10" tall and his kidney was big. My lower abdomen sort of protrudes out a bit like a little "baby bump". Since I've had two C-sections and transplants, my muscles are streched out and this causes the protrusion. Remember that kidneys grow or shrink to accomodate the size of the recipient. Such as you can put an adult kidney in a baby and it will shrink to meet the baby's needs and grow or hypertrophy as the baby grows. Hope this helps a bit.
