- Hi..I lost both my kidneys to a genetic disorder known as Tuberous sclerosis" at the age of 40 and since it was diagnosed at a very late stage ie I lost one kidney as it bled and got my second kidney taken out since that too had tubers and was just 5 percent funtioning. I had to plan this operation and be on dialysis for a year during which I applied for a proper process for transplantion. its been 4 years since I have had my transplant and lots of ups and downs regarding the management of cretanine and having to deal with rejection modes for which my medicine is tapered as well as monitiored. I have had a new lease of life and am careful about my diet and blood pressure.another killer of the kidney function. my cretanine level got risen to 2 cos of BP..and now am very very very careful with my medication and timings..and never miss a dose.
