I'm lucky enough to live near UPenn, where I had my tx and my clinic is. I have realized after meeting liver tx people here on the cafe that it is lucky not to have complications after surgery, so I feel lucky. Did you write to your doner family (through proper channels of course)? Did they respond? I wrote. Wasn't expecting to hear back, and I didn't. I found my new PC doctor while I was in the E.R. (my husband forced me to go) for the initial symptoms (like you had) but didn't think I was that sick. At that point they were checking my gall bladder because of my high liver enzime levels.

Hi Tricia. How far out are you? When was your xplant? I'm doing well. I feel bloated most of the time (and gassy). It might be that I don't have a gall bladder anymore, or maybe my liver is too big for my body :o) Anyway, I try to stay as positive as possible. I'm about 1 1/2 years out and still have small aches and pains,a lot of them are because I'm 45! I don't think my joint cracking when I get up has to do with my liver :o)

Tricia - We are kindred spirits- ha! Both redheads and my birthday was July 10th!- that says it all! I am presently waiting on a liver transplant - I have an 18 year old son and he graduated highschool in May and will attend college this Fall. Wondering how your daughter did with the actual surgery time and right after - I worry, they are so young to have this to deal with - hard enough for us as grown-ups. Any suggestions? I have been on the list since 1/9/09 after becoming very sick in Oct. 08 - my disease process is Polycystic Liver Disease. I have been very stable as I wait thank goodness for that. Thanks - Teresa
