About Me:

When I had my lung transplant I was only the 5th person with cystic fibrosis to have a double lung transplant at my center. Within 5 years I was the only one still alive out of those 5 people. I had lots of problems with scar tissue with in the first 9 months after I got my lungs. Every 4 weeks I would have problems breathing, I would have to go to the OR have a bronch and laser surgery and then I would be fine until 4 weeks later, it was like clock work. In the summer following my transplant they tried putting in a stent to keep the air way open. 2 weeks later I was back in the OR because the stupid thing plugged with mucus! Finally the beginning of September I had the scar tissue flare up on me once again. I went in for my routine bronch and laser surgery and that was my last laser surgery for the scar tissue. It finally quit happening.

I've had some minor infections here and there but nothing serious. I was told in Febuary of 2000 that I should be evaluated for a kidney transplant. I was listed in October of 2000 and then my mom began to be tested to see if she was a match. She was and after further testing the surgery was scheduled for July 24, 2001.

If you would like to know anything else about my journey feel free to ask, I love sharing my story with other people.

17 years later and still breathing!

Well, it is Christmas Eve and I am still alive! When I received my new lungs 17 years ago I was told I might get 5 years out of them. Boy have I proved them wrong! This year I have decided to share my story with everyone. Just a warning it is long. It was 5 pages when I typed it out on word.

I am so glad that God has given me this last 17 years. This morning I went to Chrissy's gave and gave her flowers, which seems like nothing since she gave me her lungs. But the awesome thing about going to… Continue

Christina Marie Baranski

17 years ago today Christina Baranski was shot. She was declared brain dead on Dec 23, that is when her grandmother chose to donate Chrissy's organs. I received her lungs just after midnight that night on Christmas Eve. Although I remember nothing about Chirtmas of 1991 it will always be the best Christmas ever! Thanks Chrissy for being my hero.

An Organ Donor Saved My Life Project!

View this on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgL1i62InIc

Please, be a part of this project!! This is an OHIO project only for now!! We want to start the ball rolling here and NOW before others do it! The goal is to collect 50 – 75 transplant recipients in Ohio to send in clips to add to the presentation. After we gather the 50 from all over Ohio, we will send it to the media via YouTube. This is VERY important and we need to take care of this in VERY short order!! Get others recipients involved!!

I am looking at August 15th deadline!

It is VERY IMPORTANT to show the positive and active side such as smiling or laughing, standing with a loved one, or holding a sports item like a golf club or basketball, or engaged in a hobby, at work, at a baseball game ... you get the picture!!
Directions: Save a video clip with a digital cam. Use ONLY a format of 320x240. Say ONLY "An organ donor saved my life", or "An organ donor saved my life ... twice". The clip can be no longer than 3-4 seconds!!

Remember, by giving us the clip you are authorizing us to use on YouTube to send to the media, and Lord knows how big this can be. But by staring this in Ohio we can start the project for the entire U.S.!!
