THE INTERNET IS DEFINITELY A GLOBAL VILLAGE

I surfed the net this afternoon and came across a link to a Scottish radio broadcast http://www.leithfm.co.uk/listen/
The dj's started commenting about Michael Jackson and asked if any listeners had jokes about MJ. I thought that odd and decided to write the crew there. This is what I shared:

Hey, hey!! I happened onto your radio broadast.. lovin' it! I am from Santa Maria, home of the Michael Jackson child molestation trial. So! I'm wondering why you want Michael Jackson JOKES? Right now, let… Continue

RIP Michael Jackson

"The Circus" many in my hometown, Santa Maria, California, called it: Michael Jackson's child molestation trial. My husband and I saw the string of news cameras and all the paparazzi from worldwide covering the MJ trial which took more than a month. Our All-American city became a mecca for looky-loos, media, sheriffs, more.

I homeschool three daughters. At the time they were pre-teens. I thought it would be educational to ride our bikes over to the courthouse one day to check-out the scene for… Continue

PASSING ON..... FUNERAL MASS FOR 5 YEAR OLD JONATHAN DAVID BY SUSAN FRIESEN, JUNE 1, 2009

This morning, my oldest daughter, Shivan, 14, and I attended the funeral mass of a little 5 year old. Jonathan David Belmont was ejected from the vehicle his mom drove. He was placed on life support, then died. His organs and tissues helped save many lives.

We waited about half an hour for the service to start in the large Catholic church (St. Louis de Montfort in Santa Maria, CA). A lady played the piano. I read a devotional which had words in English on one side, Spanish on the other. I enjoy… Continue

WE ATTENDED THE FUNERAL OF A 5 YEAR OLD WHO DONATED TISSUES AND ORGANS

I must share a heart-rending story with you all. Today my daughters and I attended the funeral of a 5 year old boy, Jonathan David Belmont, of our hometown, Santa Maria, California. Jonathan's single mother, Cambria, took her autistic son to Disneyland. On the way home, the boy kept taking off his seat belt and jumping around. From what I read in "The Santa Maria Times," she became distracted by her son, and her vehicle drifted into a semitrailer and struck its wheels. Her vehicle hit the median… Continue

NEWS of two heart transplant sisters-- Shivan and Lindsea and family

My two daughters with heart transplants continue to do well, thank God. They are now 8 years and 5 years post-transplant with no heart rejection episodes. I am thankful to UCLA Children's Hospital; Vandenberg Air Force Base pediatric staff; and, of course, the Lord for keeping the girls so healthy.

Shivan (heart tx Jan 29, 2001) turns 15 this summer. She can't wait to get her learner's permit and drive. She earned 4 medals in swimming at the U.S. Transplant Games last summer in Pittsburgh, PA (… Continue

Hi to all my friends in Transplant Cafe. I hope you have a wonderful new year and decade. I sure plan to as this past year and decade were very stressful- 2 daughters getting heart transplants (thank God for that, though!), a divorce, robbed of my purse, more! I sure pray for peace and safety in the next year, moving back to my house. People were so good to fix my home so the girls and I could move back and not lose it.
Much love!

Wow.You and your girls have quite the story. I am thrilled that everyone is doing well. What were their diagnoses? It has been quite a ride for me. 20 years with autoimmune liver disease and now 6 months post transplant. We are truly blessed to have surgeons that are skilled enough to do what they do and people willing to donate life so others can live. I spread the word daily. Thanks for contacting me.
