Hi Sharon, so you got your pancreas first? How did you qualify for the pancreas without the kidney transplant or is this your second kidney? You look great. My sister and I just celebrated 6 months in July and we are both feeling really good. "Laura" said she got winded running for the bus the other day and it brought back memories of feeling winded while she was recovering. Being winded now has a whole new meaning for her and she welcomes the feeling.

Hello Sharon,
Hope all is well with you and your loved ones.
We are so glad to have him home. its been a long wait for both of us, as my wife had a few miscarriages and we had a 23 weeker that only lived for 10 weeks. We are so exited to begin this new part of our lives as parents. About the taking turns, thanks for the advice thats the way we've been doing it and we seem to be doing ok. I think if the weather is not too cold i may bring him to the meeting. i do have to be in there a little earlier than most because Latrice and I are going to go over a few ideas on reaching the Latino community on Transplant education.
Good to hear from you, as always take care and God Bless
Jose

Hi Kiddo! Thanks for the "Hi"! I hope all is well for you and yours? Did you sell all your basket bingo tickets yet? I've got 3 left, and can't seem to get rid of them. I'll give it another 3 days. I did sell 7 out of 10 however. Have a great and safe rest of the week. Take care, God bless, and keep smiling!!! Mike

Oh thanks for the message back to me:) My transplant story is a long one. Where to start lol? hmmm I was born feb 2, 1959 lol that's not right heehee~~~well on my transplant I did really well until last July when my transplant coordinator called and asked me "how I was feeling?" I said, "Pretty good for almost being 50:)" then she went on to say my blood sugar was 280 on my labs! I thought 'oh crap!' and then went and took another reading and it was 400!!! Yes bummer~~~so off we (my wife & I) to St. Louis to get checked out at the transplant center I go too....the result my Pancreas failed....yes after 18 1/2 years ( I am very thankful for that time) and yes we wondered why it failed? Well we have thoughts why, but that's a long story too...so last July my numbers# were creatine 3.3 bun 85 GFR 21.1....1 from being listed again....my latest #'s are 2.6 creatine bun 59 GFR 26...so right now the next transplant is on hold...so th waiting game starts....we just have to see what each month brings as labs go....I will keep you posted on that ok...mabye we can exchange emails later?
So when did you get Diabetes? And what do you & your husband do in Maryland? Ok well lets stay in touch and it's nice to meet you....Tracy

Hello Again,
Thank you for your prayers, we also look forward to knowing you and your husband a little more also. Well about the ride, I will not be able to go. My son was due to be discharged on Tueday, but the Dr decided to keep him for a few more days. My wife will room inn at the hospital Thursday and he will hopefully come home on Friday. I'm glad you are here also I got my Transplant in may and a month later a received an invite from a friend that had a transplant also. I think is a great way to find some suppoty and get answers to questions that we may think only happen to us. In the small little time that I've been here I've found a few people that had similar stories to mine. I hope you can find a ride if you go to the social event, take care and good luck with all the Valentine's day order

Here we go again....and again!

So I had my first liver tx in 2005 (living donor) and had bile duct issues. I had a 2nd tx March 16th and have bile duct problems yet again and now I'm faced with needing a 3rd tx. Has anyone out there had 3 transplants? I've been stuck in hospital since March and the doctors want to send me home...even though I still require IV antibiotics and a VACC system. My family and I are quite nervous.

This is for those of us who take Prograf as a main immune suppressive drug. We can discuss side effects, etc. Or, we can just keep a head count of how many in the community take Prograf.
