Hi Sharon, so you got your pancreas first? How did you qualify for the pancreas without the kidney transplant or is this your second kidney? You look great. My sister and I just celebrated 6 months in July and we are both feeling really good. "Laura" said she got winded running for the bus the other day and it brought back memories of feeling winded while she was recovering. Being winded now has a whole new meaning for her and she welcomes the feeling.
Hope all is well with you and your loved ones.
We are so glad to have him home. its been a long wait for both of us, as my wife had a few miscarriages and we had a 23 weeker that only lived for 10 weeks. We are so exited to begin this new part of our lives as parents. About the taking turns, thanks for the advice thats the way we've been doing it and we seem to be doing ok. I think if the weather is not too cold i may bring him to the meeting. i do have to be in there a little earlier than most because Latrice and I are going to go over a few ideas on reaching the Latino community on Transplant education.
Good to hear from you, as always take care and God Bless
he is finally home he came home on friday the 13th, as you can immagine neither of us could get any sleep. that is only cause we were so worried as new parents. he went for a follow up this past Tuesday and he gainned 4oz and grew a 1/2 incn. We are very exited to have him home, we have been so Blessed. I will definiltelly be there next meeting, hope to see you there also take care and God Bless you and your loved ones.
Hi Kiddo! Thanks for the "Hi"! I hope all is well for you and yours? Did you sell all your basket bingo tickets yet? I've got 3 left, and can't seem to get rid of them. I'll give it another 3 days. I did sell 7 out of 10 however. Have a great and safe rest of the week. Take care, God bless, and keep smiling!!! Mike
Would you please email me at email@example.com. Want to talk with you the next meeting/training we spoke of previously. We can email or phone. Whatever you're comfortable with. Just didn't want to ask you to post a phone number for the immediate world.
Oh thanks for the message back to me:) My transplant story is a long one. Where to start lol? hmmm I was born feb 2, 1959 lol that's not right heehee~~~well on my transplant I did really well until last July when my transplant coordinator called and asked me "how I was feeling?" I said, "Pretty good for almost being 50:)" then she went on to say my blood sugar was 280 on my labs! I thought 'oh crap!' and then went and took another reading and it was 400!!! Yes bummer~~~so off we (my wife & I) to St. Louis to get checked out at the transplant center I go too....the result my Pancreas failed....yes after 18 1/2 years ( I am very thankful for that time) and yes we wondered why it failed? Well we have thoughts why, but that's a long story too...so last July my numbers# were creatine 3.3 bun 85 GFR 21.1....1 from being listed again....my latest #'s are 2.6 creatine bun 59 GFR 26...so right now the next transplant is on hold...so th waiting game starts....we just have to see what each month brings as labs go....I will keep you posted on that ok...mabye we can exchange emails later?
So when did you get Diabetes? And what do you & your husband do in Maryland? Ok well lets stay in touch and it's nice to meet you....Tracy
Thank you for your prayers, we also look forward to knowing you and your husband a little more also. Well about the ride, I will not be able to go. My son was due to be discharged on Tueday, but the Dr decided to keep him for a few more days. My wife will room inn at the hospital Thursday and he will hopefully come home on Friday. I'm glad you are here also I got my Transplant in may and a month later a received an invite from a friend that had a transplant also. I think is a great way to find some suppoty and get answers to questions that we may think only happen to us. In the small little time that I've been here I've found a few people that had similar stories to mine. I hope you can find a ride if you go to the social event, take care and good luck with all the Valentine's day order
If your doc write BS/BS and specifies that you need prograf, not a generic med, they will back down. It's up to a doc to decide. All generic meds aren't the same as the name brand. At MGH they prefer prograf, although they said…"
"Hi Dottie, congratulations on your transplant. I have 10 years on my new liver this month. You have a new organ for only a few years. I would suggest you keep a spreadsheet of your labs as far back as you can so you can notice any…"
"Hi Devra, I am Darlene & had a DLTx 3-3-11. So far no problems with lungs but I have gained 50 lbs since transplant. Finally they lowered prednisone this week to 2 1/2 mg once a day. I have had some kidney damage they are…"
Welcome from me as well. I'm three plus years out...I was on the prograf (as much as 30 mg a day) and others including immuran (as much as 150 a day) and prednisone for the first year or so...I'm now down to simply 1mg x 2…"
So I had my first liver tx in 2005 (living donor) and had bile duct issues. I had a 2nd tx March 16th and have bile duct problems yet again and now I'm faced with needing a 3rd tx. Has anyone out there had 3 transplants? I've been stuck in hospital since March and the doctors want to send me home...even though I still require IV antibiotics and a VACC system. My family and I are quite nervous.
I wanted to help as well, but I am no longer under 18. I do hope though that your project goes well and proves to be informative for you and those to whom you show it. If you do not mind me asking, are you graduating as an undergrad or…"
"Welcome Dottie! I had thought I would have been on more immunosuppressant than I am as I received six organs in my transplant, but I only take 2mg Prograf twice daily without a steroid. I was on the steroid Medrol in the very beginning but the…"
"Hi Dottie - I'm a full, no-living-donor transplantee....I never heard of the bone marrow option....but then again I have heard someone who went to Taiwan for a liver and is on no meds and doing fine after 6 years. Whilst it might be feasible,…"
Well I am shiny and new here but received my tp a couple years ago february 3rd. Anyway I see all these people that tke really low doses of prograf and kinda wonder why mone is so high my doc has me taking 6 mg 2x a day. (shrug)
Well I am new here but have to say I grew up in New England and my love for seafood did not go away post TP. I do eat seafood a lot actually but am EXTREMELY picky about where I eat it and where I buy it. The things that worry me most…"
