Update on my Eyes and things :)

Posted on April 9, 2011 at 5:15pm 0 Comments

So I've been going to an ophthalmologist, she did all these blood tests on me and TB tests.  She got one test back for cat scratch fever she said that it wasn't negative nor positive, so i could've had it in the past.  She ordered more blood tests to make sure and in the mean time, gave me the antibiotic doxycycline to take for a month!   I go back in a few days, so hopefully she will…

October and November I was in texas staying with my boyfriend, we hadn't seen each other in 8 months!  We went a lot of places, I got to go to work with him, and I got to help with all the vinyl stuff.  We went to a few museums, I met almost all of his family, and we spent Thanksgiving together :D …

Ok so I tried to get Femcon Fe, but my insurance didn't cover it. Have any of you ladies used the Ortho Evra Patch?? I've seen a lot of reviews on the net some ppl say it's great some ppl say it's horrible. I guess it depends on the person.

Ok so yesterday I went and had my 12th heart biopsy and I'm waiting right now for them to call me with the results because I'm supposed to meet my b/f halfway so I can go stay with him in Texas for two weeks :D I am pretty much dying to see him right now because I haven't seen him since my transplant and that was nearly 8 months ago. Anywho, the nurses told me yesterday that I can take birth control :D yay!! I'm only on prograf, and prednisone now for my transplant, which is amazing,… Continue

Thank you for responding to my questions about blue cheese. I didn't even think about pasteurization. I checked and sure enough, my husband had bought unpasteurized at Trader Joe's. So, that means no blue cheese for me tonight. Raw milk, I wouldn't eat any form of. Thanks again!

Sarah,
Hope all goes well with the results from your biopsy yesterday and this finds you packing for your 2 weeks in Texas. I've got my fingers crossed for you.... that would be the best medicine for you!

Anyone experience acute rejection past the 1 year mark with double lung transplant?

My dad had a double lung transplant 1.5 years ago after suffering with bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia and pulmonary hypertension for over 7 years. Last week he was submitted to the hospital for acute rejection. His doctor told us that they only see this in 1% of patients. I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced this or knows of someone who has and what the outcomes were? Right now my dad's biggest fear is that there will be permanent damage to his lungs and he will be back on oxygen permanently. I honestly think he fears that more than dying. As you can imagine this is devastating to him and my family. On top of the emotional devastation comes the heavy burden of financial stress. For a shameless plug: if you are able to, please donate to help pay for his medical expenses and/or share the below link with your network. We are truly grateful for any help, support or prayers that you can offer for my family.Thank you!…See More
