- I am a 53 year old male. I was diagnosed with hepatitis C 15 years ago. The doctors said that i had probably had it sinceI was 20 after my surgery on removing my spleen. I developed cancer of my liver in feb 2010 after 3 sessions of chemo i was put on the transplant list in pa. and ohio area. Three unseccessful runs to pittsburgh and cleveland the fourth one was the green light. I was transplanted October 22nd 2010. My reccovery so far has been good

I wanted to stop by and say "Welcome", glad you have joined us here at the cafe. I am also a liver Tx (2006) I'm so glad to hear that your recovery is going smoothly. Congratulations of receiving your gift last Oct. You will find the people here are amazing and very supportive of one another~always willing to share their experiences and any information that they have learned along this journey. Look around, join a few groups (there is one for liver tx's and another for hepatitis tx's), read discussions, make comments or start a discussion of your own. Wishing you the best!!!
