I am very greatful for the liver transplant team of Doctors, Residents, students,nurses, nurses aids, and all the theripist, netritionist,volinteers, and every single person at the University of Utah, but most of all my Husband ffor being so devoted and never leaving my side.. now for the number one gratful for the donor and the family for there kindness to save anothers life i can never put in words what this means to me.

When i got the call i was soo suprised and happy, sad and scared all in one my emotions ran wild, I am wanting to get it over with but then again i dont i am tired of all the pain i am in but thinking about the pain that is waiting for me around the courner is scary tooo I just hope it all goes well

Hello everybody Whats been up

hello All,


Thought i would post I am finally off the pain meds but still wish i had them for other probs (hip pain) that i didn't have before my liver transplant. I go in July to have a biopsy of the liver and to clinic and an Orthopedic doc to find out how things are doing the 1 yr mark is approaching fast Aug 1st. and besides the insomnia, leg cramps at night I am doing much better. So those of you who are going through it be patient it does get better. And Mike cheer up buttercup LO

7 Months 3 Days

Hi every one just wanting to update I am 7months & 3 days post liver transplant. I will go to clinic in two weeks. I am sure they will say I am doing good. I still have a lot of pain in where they sliced me open, and my cat scan last week revealed that i am still swollen in my abdomen, i still look preggers LOL but there isn't any fluid present so that's good. Unfortunately I will still have to take chemo that I will be starting later in the month. Well I think thiis is all the news for now… Continue

4 Months and doing fine

Hi everyone sorry i haven't been on i guess you can say i have been feeling better so i haven't spent a lot of time in front of the computer. Well I started my radiation treatments this past Monday, i go Mon - Fri for 7 weeks, but i am almost threw the first week so after tomorrow 6 weeks left. I am not having the bad nausea, but i have had prob with my bowels, and tired all the time. but just glad to get this done and over with. post transplant 40 days

today is the 40th day since i received my new liver. There has been a lot of ups and downs in the past 40 days but let me tell you that within a few weeks of getting out of the hospital I can tell the difference in the way i feel, think, and want to live. I went through 4 surgeries to get my new liver, after the first surgery they had to re open me up because I was not breathing well due to increased fluid, and they took out the breathing tube out to soon. Just got back from clinic

Hi thought i would give a little update.. I went to utah on the 15th for blood work and scan and clinic appointment, i was put on the waiting list june 12th and this was my first clinic since being on the list so i got my meds to take when i get the call, and everything explained to me and got my labs back and my afp went from 1983 to over 3000 since the 2nd of june, so that has me and the Docs worried big time... although they didnt find a tumor once again on my scan, they say that they dont kn… Continue
