About Me: Please use this space to tell the community about yourself and your unique experience with transplantation:

My daughter, Myka, desperately needed a double lung transplant due to cystic fibrosis. She endured 4 years of being on oxygen and unable to do normal activities.

Myka received her new lungs March 19, 2006. She was able to LIVE 2 years and 9 months thanks to her donor. Myka was able to meet her donor family after her 2 year anniversary. Myka's donor Mom, Monica, came to stay with her for two days while she battled rejection.

Some may wonder, why go through transplant for just 2.75 more years? Myka would have told you it was worth every day!! She loved hard and tried to make each moment count.
