About Me: Please use this space to tell the community about you and your unique experience with transplantation:
I personally know a young lady the same age as my younger daughter who is waiting for a liver donor, and following her journey intently. I personally see the struggle of those who need transplants and have also seen the need for public education regarding donation. Many myths surround donation that, with education, will be dispelled.

Because today marks the tenth anniversary of my multivisceral transplant in which I got a new spleen, liver, pancreas, stomach, small and large intestine, I want to:T: ThankE: EveryN: NameT: ThatE: EncouragedN: Now!!This forum here has been a part of my journey since my transplant, and I feel this is a good day to express my gratitude to everyone here. For me:T: TransplantsR: RecallA: AndN: NameS: SpecialP: PeopleL: LovingA: Another'sN: NeedsT: Thoroughly. This refers not only to the donor and donor family, but also to those people who have helped to make the transplant a lasting success after the surgery. I would not have done as well as I have if I did not have the support of others. This forum is a great reminder too of people coming together to help each other. I am so happy to reach this milestone of ten years and to be able to share it with you. If it had not been for the transplant, I would have died and came close. Thank you for all that you have done to help…See More
"After the transplant my bp slowly went up and has stayed. Metoprolol and lisinopril dosing and that keeps it manageable. Must lose some weight and continue to exercise . Never had bp problems pre transplant but do now."
