- About Me: Please use this space to tell the community about yourself and your unique experience with transplantation:
- My mother passed away with Amyloidosis, Familial amyloidosis, or ATTR, and a liver transplant is the only cure, her middle brother has had a very succeful liver transplant in Portugal and is doing very well. In my mother case she was missed diagnosed, and treatment was too late. My brother once he knew I would be placed on the translate list, came back from his travels to see if he could donate, unfortunately he was not a match, most of my family is blood type A where as I am O. The wait was the worst part.

- My husband attended a business meeting where someone had donated a kidney, she passed the web site to him.

- Lina, congrats on your new liver!! You and your family are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. You have SO much to look forward to now in life! We're liver buddies :) I had my transplant 3 years ago, so if you ever want to chat or have any sort of questions feel free to ask away. Looks like you have a wonderful husband and support group! - Hi honey: by now you're finally in the operating room and in skilled hands. The end of a long and painful journey as we waited for that phone call - more for you than me but I have tried to share the load in my own way - is now here and a new one is beginning later today. We're now on a journey "back to normal" so let's take it one step at a time. I love you and will be there every step of the way with you. Your husband Marshall
