#2 My sister Debbie. She unselfishly gave me her FAVORITE kidney.
#3 My daughter Brooke, who, when she told possible new employers that she could not work for them if she would not be able to take time off to be my caregiver, when the time came, she would not be able to take the job. She's amazing, right off setting up the conditions of her new employment, AND getting the job! Hurraaaaay ! She took three wks off when I had my transplant (I had a bit of a set back ). Her bosses said family comes first. God bless them.

- I am diabetic (#2). When my creat. got too high. I found out I was in stage 4 CKD already. Kept close eye on diet and GFR & C levels. My two sisters stepped up to the plate as donors. After a year (approx) of testing, my older sister & I found out she did not qualify the night before the transplant was to take place. She had just gone in for her last test that day. So my younger
sister then went through testing, and I had to do some re-testing, because it had been a year. She qualified and we had the surgery 5/14/08. She gave me her FAVORITE kidney! It is said that as soon as they hooked
me up, that little organ took off running! No sleepy time for her!
After being home a few days I developed a fever, Brookie Cookie Wookie Woman called the doctors and I had to be re-admitted. Turns out I had a bladder infection and the only antibiotic that would treat it was IV Zosyn.
So I was back in the hospital for almost a week.

Connie Austin said… I received a liver transplant 10/27/11. All was going well for a month and then I started feeling very fatigued again and lately very sleepy. My liver enzymes have been rising higher than they've ever been since early Dec. It's the hep C coming back with a vengeance. I've been scheduled for an ultrasound on Fri. AM and a biopsy Mon. AM, with a number of f/u visits. I believe they will start treatment soon. I tried interferon alone in '93 and my white count dropped too low, so I was taken off treatment. No treatment for HCV since then.
I'll bet your weird friend lives out in the Atlantic off Boston.

*****Because this statement is on all of my e-mail
stationary it makes me feel good to know I have
affected at least a few people. My cousin Jill
passed away this morning from cancer. About
a year and a half ago she told me because of
this signature on my stationary, she was
donating her body. Her brother followed suit
(he is my age.....okay....62!). When Jill's other brother
called me this morning, he told me that Jill had
talked to her mother about it, and my aunt
donated her body as well.She has since passed. I can't imagine how many
people will be helped all because of a simple
statement on my stationary. Who knows how many others
have done the same and just didn't tell me.
Don't give up, continue to spread the request.
It works. This is dedicated to my cousin Jill, RIP
