Recipients: In This Space, Feel Free To Write About Those You Are Grateful to for Receiving The Gift Of Life:
I don't even know how to express my feeling of gratefullness to the family and the Donor, it is all so fresh for me. I want to cry for their loss but yet have happiness that they thought to give the gift of life to someone else that was truly in need. When time comes , I want to meet them and allow them to feel and hear that a part of their loved one lives on in me. They have gave me a second chance with my 3 boys and 6 grandchildren. I thank them, but most of all I thank God for giving them the choice they have made and for guiding my surgeons hands .
Recipient: In This Space Please Tell The Community About Your Transpant Center, Doctors, Transplant Team, Date of Transplant and Any Other Details You'd Like to Share About Your Experience:
I had my transplant at Jewish hospital in Louisville Kentucky where I reside. I would not trade my transplant team for nothing they have been taking care of me for about 5 yrs. It took me 2yrs. For them to talk me into getting an LVAD, in which case I did and kept it for 3 yrs. And never gave up hope. Each day I went to my clinic appt. I would tell my Dr. 'Get Me A Heart' and he always promised he would. After lugging that LVAD around for 3 long yrs. And with some strong faith in God, I kept telling everyone this is my year 2012 I getting my heart you watch and see! And on july 15th I got the call july 16th is my new birthday as I see it. And what is so special is in Jan. I wrote in my calender book that has Angels in it, for July I wrote' god told my lil Angels he has something in store for me this month' now you tell me how grate thou art!

Well I'm a single mother of 3 boys that are now grown, which I'm glad all this has happened to me while they are older and they can understand , but doesn't make it any easier. I've been going through all this since I was 36yrs. Of age, I'm now 49. Having the LVAD for 3 yrs. Has giving a chance to talk to the community and give them knowledge and other Dr.s and nurses that also didn't have the knowledge. I talk to patients the are pre LVAD. And I talk to patient that are post, gives me a happiness to know that's my calling and God has me here for a reason. And to all of you on here , he also has you here for a reason. So with that being said May God Always Bless Us All and keep us as he keeps the donors with us.

Here we go again....and again!

So I had my first liver tx in 2005 (living donor) and had bile duct issues. I had a 2nd tx March 16th and have bile duct problems yet again and now I'm faced with needing a 3rd tx. Has anyone out there had 3 transplants? I've been stuck in hospital since March and the doctors want to send me home...even though I still require IV antibiotics and a VACC system. My family and I are quite nervous.
