- My name is Juan..I received my heart on Jan.15 of 2009..I am a 12 yr cancer survivor.. The chemo and radiation i received caused my to get cardiomyapthy..In May 2008 i was hospitalized with swelling of my ankles..
After further testing i was told i would need a heart transplant..I was transfered to Tampa General Hosp. and underwent an evaluation..I was good candidate for a transplant..In Sep.2008 i was put on the waiting list..
I was doing fine on primacor and my other meds..On the day i was called for the transplant, I had been here in the hospital for right heart cath. that morning..
When i got home a few hours later they called me and told me to get back..
They had a heart for me..I put my life in Gods hands and knew i was going to come alright..And so here i am doing good and feeling Blessed..I'm going to honor God and my donor by taking care of this heart...

I see we have the same docs, caldera did my transplant, and I was seeing berman for artial fib. I see they have combined the heart & lung clinic into one.
