- Lucky to be alive because after leaving work/insurance I couldn't get listed until I had a guarantor (Insurance). VA declined and Medicare required 2-yr waiting period. I spent 2yrs fighting ESLD, hepatic encephalopathy (fog), and depression. By the time Medicare was approved I had developed liver cancer.

OMG! My 9th year has passed on May 5 and I forgot all about it. Thank you Dr Busitil and the parents of the 25-yo girl who lost her life and in their tragedy donated her liver to me.

Why I Support Single Payer Health Insurance

Medicare paid for my transplant after a 2-year waiting period, for which I am grateful. I fully expected to die before Medicare was approved. The insurance I had at Earthlink Networks expired when I left April, 2000 and didn't pick up Cobra because of the fog that accompanies cirrhosis and Earthlink’s insurance wouldn’t cover me retroactively.

Gisborne is exactly like santa Barbara 100+ years ago and no fat cats.
What do you do n Ventura? I am retired but was a hospital director and child shrink. Being retired is much better.
