About Me: Please use this space to tell the community about yourself and your unique experience with transplantation:

Also a 40 year survivor of colon cancer. We suspect radiation treatments led to liver/kidney failure. Was listed with another transplant center is Georgia and then removed from the list-being considered too high risk- the week before Piedmont Hospital accepted me and gave me my transplant. Life expectancy at time of transplant was a matter of days. Meld score when transplant was mathematically a 41 even though the scale only goes to 40. My partner and I met our Donor family through a myspace page that our donor's mother had set up. We talk with her almost daily. Our donor was 19 yrs old, died in a single vehicle car accident.
