What Do You Do For a Living? What Are Your Passions, Hobbies, Passtimes, Dreams and Goals for the Future?
I am a nurse of 30 years, 28 of them I worked at the same hospital. I was called to nursing when I was in 9th grade. I am also unemployed & have been unable to find any kind of a job because I am either "overqualified" or "not enough experience in a certain type of nursing." It has been a devastating experience the last 1 1/2 years.I have used up most of my retirement, cut down as far as possible, am having to drop my health insurance because they increased my already highly inflated rates (from $687 to $993/month. Even if I were working I could not afford that!! My life could be different if I was working.Keep praying for a job for me!!
About Me: Please use this space to tell the community about you and your unique experience with transplantation:
My experience began with a rhythm change during work. I worked in the intensive care unit. I was about 23 years old. I had a fast Wolfe-Parkinson-White rhythm. It deals with the electrical system of the heart. I dealt with every rhythm in the book, fast rates, slow rates which led to several pacemakers over the years. I saw quite a few electrophysiologists and cardiologists. After an episode of Vtach I was flown to Cleveland where I was implanted with a defibrilator and a last resort bi-v pacemaker. It worked for a little while (about 3 months). I just dealt with the impending edn-stage failure.

Hi Jill, thanks for the comment back. I remember Kay, she is so sweet! My tx coordinator is Jim, he is absolutely amazing as well!! SO good to hear that you are doing well :) My 5 year checkup went good and I am training to go to the world transplant games in Sweden this June. I'm super excited :) Have you seen my "Holdol Transplant Wear" tshirt in the patient waiting room showcase at the CC? I designed tshirts, hoodies and sweatpants as a way to spread awareness and help me get to the games. Here's my website if you would like to check it out, www.holdolskitchen.webs.com I am a chef, so there are delish recipes on there as well as transplant awareness :) Take care..
