TRANSPLANT GAMES PINS

Posted on December 10, 2008 at 3:01pm 2 Comments

Hi all!! I am finally getting around to doing Tyler's shadow box with all the pins from the Games, but I thought we had them all...and we may, but some don't have team names on them. The teams in question are:

Central NY, Northeast NY, South and Central Texas, Tennessee (Middle), Tennessee (West) and Upstate NY.

If anyone from these teams could possibly let me know if you didn't have a team pin, or if you did, what does it look like? I try to put these in alphabetical order...my… Continue

Personalized back bibs for those going to the Games

Posted on June 8, 2008 at 6:00am 3 Comments

Hi all! I was at the Hospital Hill run in KCMO yesterday and got a flyer for personalized back bibs and thought maybe folks going to the Games may be interested in ordering some in honor of/memory of their donor(s). They are very neat and Al is working on some samples for the Games saying "I'm competing" instead of walking/running. I thought they would be great for those of us signed up for the 5K or any of the athletes doing track and field events, although he also has some that says "I'm… Continue

Hello Georgette,

Thank you so much for the message (no worries, I'm still getting used to the last name too). The Canadian games were tons of fun, and I did well. I won everything i entered but only because I'm the only one in my age category so I don't think it really counts. I was actually thinking about you guys and wondering how Tyler was doing? from what I can remember there was talk of him having both BA & AGS (am I correct on this, whatever came of it)? for me the double diagnosis was a blessing in some ways (that may sound weird- but I'm sure mom has explained it to you - I honestly don't know what I'd do without her...lol). How did the US games go for Tyler? are you going to Australia? I would love to have gone but am going to be in a wedding during that time :( ever thought about coming to Canadian games? would love to meet you guys again.

Take Care and give Tyler and big hug for me!

Hey Georgette!
I did get a roommate! She is from Team Maine. I haven't gotten my stuff yet. The "closest" uniform party is in Jacksonville so I requested that I have my things mailed to me. I hope I get them soon; I'm starting to get antsy! The floods are in St. Louis? BOO! That's where I got TXed! See you soon (21 days but who is counting?). Hugs! :-)

Hey I've been wondering about you and if those floods affected your area. Hope y'all are safe! Kim :-)

Hey! I'm having my uniform stuff mailed to me since the "closest" uniform party is in Jacksonville--grrrr. I can't wait to see my team's shirts since the color is different from last time! :-)

Hey Georgette!
My folks will be coming in Saturday so I'll talk to them this weekend when they come up to help me celebrate!
I'm glad you liked my story. Looking back, that's the one I should have submited at the txgames website instead of the story of the night I got "the call"....grrrrrrr. Oh well. I'll still submit the one I have posted here.
Of COURSE you're still getting a Team Florida pin! Just look for the super short, ridiculously adorable, half-Hispanic chick wearing a lime green team FL shirt. LOL! You still have my Mo-Kan pin on back order, right? ;-)
Hugs! :-D

Georgette. Thank you for your comments. I am a very devout person, and always trying to do better. I try to keep "sucked" and words of that nature out of my vocabulary. I had a horrible night, before writing that, and wasn't doing well at all. I apologize to you and anyone else who might have read that for not setting a proper example of what a Christian should be. God bless, and thank you for blessing me with your son's story. What a little miracle he is. I hope to get my new heart, and do some speaking and writing to further awareness for organ donation, So who knows maybe I will get to meet you guys in person someday.
