Here in FL when you get your driver license renewed they ask if you want to be a organ donor.  Hey they can have whatever they want when I am gone if it meant a better quality of life for someone else.  Our dear friend died in May, he was only 49.  He had  a fall and caused brain damage and was a vegetable.  Thanks to the stamp on his drivers license, it was easier for his family in any decission of what to do.  From what we were told Mark who lived in OK helped 14 people in their quality of…See More

Recipients: In This Space, Feel Free To Write About Those You Are Grateful to for Receiving The Gift Of Life:
I had my transplant in 1971. My father had given me a second chance in life. He was 46 and I was 17. I will be 60 August 17th. I had two healthy sons which gave me 7 grandchildren and in there a set of twins granddaughters who now are 16. I have been really been blessed. The doctor who invented Gatorade at the university of Gainesville, Dr. Robert Cade was my doctor. What a wonderful man and doctor he was. He passed away a few years back. Keep a good attitude and don't panic when things come up because they will. Take each day as a gift and just live to the fullest and thank God every morning when you get up and use that bathroom, lol. Blessings and prayers to all who have gone through this. I know each day you worry when it will stop. Don't think that, think I am here another day. God Bless, Donna

I was surrounded by wonderful people and school. They had a fund drive for me. A radio broadcaster Ted Webb of WFLA now here in Tampa Bay had a concert and raised money. People were just wonderful and supportive in more ways they will never know and hope they have been blessed for all that they have done. When I received my father's kidney which is now 89 and he passed away in 2003 but still lives on through me. Keep it kickin dad. He made me new.

Here we go again....and again!

So I had my first liver tx in 2005 (living donor) and had bile duct issues. I had a 2nd tx March 16th and have bile duct problems yet again and now I'm faced with needing a 3rd tx. Has anyone out there had 3 transplants? I've been stuck in hospital since March and the doctors want to send me home...even though I still require IV antibiotics and a VACC system. My family and I are quite nervous.
