This is very true. Organ donation works because of all common folks, like you and me, that register to become donors. We aren’t well-known, we aren’t rich, we have never had our “15 Minutes of fame”. We are simple people who care about life.

While this may be true for many people, it’s not necessarily true in my case. As a heart transplant recipient, my TRUE hero is my donor. This person and his or her family did the most unselfish thing a person could do ……. he or she gave me life as their’s came to an end. There is nothing more heroic in my life than…

“The hero is one who kindles a great light in the world, who sets up blazing torches in the dark streets of life for men to see by.”



This is what an organ donor does …… lights the way for those on a long and often dark journey and not only gives hope, but he or she ultimately gives life. Organ donors are true heroes!
