Awesome!! How is Dan feeling? Nik had the major "I feel so great" for about 2 months after. She continues to fight one "bug" after another, but is beginning to stretch her wings a bit. This weekend should be fun, our youngest 3 grandaughters are spending the weekend. Enjoy!

Hi Sue and Dan,
Thank you for the kind comments about me getting onto the list. It was an emotional rollercoaster day for me! The wait at IU Med Center is on average 3 mos. So hopefully that will work for me! I can't wait to move on to the next chapter of my life, but at the same time I am dreading a major surgery and the life changes that come with it!

Thanks for the support! I hope you get your new liver soon!

Oh nancy and I have enjoed the 'Cooler' summer too as Oklahoma can be hot and Nortern Calif too (where were orig from). I see your from Black Earth Wisconsin~~~when we came up from Oklahoma the first time (May 22 evaluation at UW) the one ting I noticed was how dark 'black' & primo the soil was (is that the greenthumb in me? lol) anywhos nice to connect with ya....Tracy

Hi Dan & Sue, from rainy Madison. Life around here is always interesting. Nikki has now gotten past her 1 year bench mark, and sometimes the best thing I can say to her is "but you are still alive". It has been a long year. We are still seeing the docs every 3 months, and her labs are every other week. She had a bit of a liver scare a month ago, where an antibiotic to deal with the secondary infection from shingles caused her liver to freak out a bit. We still take one day at a time, but now we know that the next day will come. Lack of energy and pain from other but related issues are now something we have to deal with.
UW is awesome, most of the nurses are awesome. The transplant coordinators both pre and post transplant are wonderful (Jean Breslow is FANTASTIC), Dr Musat has a forever place in our hearts and minds. The care at UW is always that...caring. There are always one or two ringers, but they are usually not a big issue. I understand the mental emotional issues waiting for transplant are trying. We were lucky to only deal with them for a few months. Keep a positive attitude, and let the 4-footed "aides" give you extra lovin. Feel free to email me directly if you would like.

Dan - I too am waiting for a liver transplant due to Polycystic Liver Disease. I was listed 1/9/09 but luckily haven't been very very sick. The wait is challenging - we pray for phone to ring but tighten up each time it does at odd hours. My health just needs to hang in there for the wait - prayers you will get your call very soon - Teresa

I'm on Cellcept (brand name from Roche) for SLE. Works great for joint pain, but I really can't afford the medicine. Aetna makes me pay a 1/3rd copay, and that is near $564/mo. for the therapeutic dosage (3000mg/day). No one can help, not even Roche…
