Miss Fishie makes the news!

HI, all!

I am very excited to report that I was interviewed by channel four (NBC News) from Columbus last night. The story was featured on the late news and on several versions of the news today! I am excited about bringing awareness of the Transplant Games and organ donation to the media. Providing the truth and expelling the myths of organ and tissue donation is one of the golas I strive for on a daily basis. Below is the link to the story...yes, I am my usual goofy "Dory Fish" self! Enjoy and please share with others who need a testimony of life after transplant!

Hi Carol, How was your trip to Gold Coast, Australia and the World Tx Games? I was looking at the weather down there and it seemed like it was inconsistent. What kind of stuff did you do in Gold Coast and did you party allot? Who was there that we know and you thought I might know? Was Randy Stafford, the MD/PhD there? He tried to get in touch when I was sick and lost my transplant to cancer. Then I got cancer again but a different kind followed by needing 3 stents placed in my heart because we couldn't find an effective drug to lower my cholesterol. We then found "Crestor" which dropped my lipids to normal but then I am told that I had a minor heart attack during a stress test. I didn't really feel anythimg serious plus it came back to normal while I was sitting and watching TV. And before you went to Australia I told you that I had to have stomach surgery to close another surgery which hade not healed in over 1 1/2 years. The surgery extended my body scars to over ten feet with a scar that starts 3" below my belly button to 6" above it but my wound did heal and the Surgeon told me a week after the surgery that I could finally jump in the pool and swim my heart out!!! YEAH !...Wah..hoo!! Now who is going to refresh me on the fundamentals of swimming "long, slow distance" without swallowing so much water that I drown or grow gills? Luv & kisses, Ernie
P.S.Why are we not on eachother's friends list? P.P.S. Did you bring back anything in addition to great memories of a fantastic and amazing trip to Australia? If you didn't I will try to squeeze out one big "Crocodile Tear" thinking how you must have felt being down in Paradise a little disapointed while I had to suffer, cuts, swelling, bruising and pain. It might not be a big Crocodile tear that rolls down my cheek and falls to the Ground!!!

I do like this site. I found lots of old friends and some new ones.

How are you doing?

I told you I would join. I have had a little probem navigating the site ;-). I was up until 1:30 am this morning looking for you and I did not find you until this afternoon.

It is a cool site, I have already run into a number of people that I know and met a few new ones. Thanks for the tip!!!

Carole, let people know that tickets to Australia are lower than they have been in years and the more the ecconomey goes down (closer to Games time) I expect them to be even lower.
