If You Are WAITING for a Transplant, Please Feel Free to Tell the Community About Your Experience With the Waiting Process.. To Help Us Get to Know You Better and Understand What You're Going Through:
I need a new liver. I am waiting to get on the list, to wait for a liver. I have found the process of waiting quite frustrating. My doctors have been amazing, as have the nurses and every other health professional with whom I have come in contact thus far. The strangest part of the process is, of course, waiting. When you go to the doctor with a problem, they usually do something to fix you. If you cut off your arm, they sew it back on. If you wreck your knee, like I did last year, they fix it with surgery and physical therapy. Infection? You get an antibiotic. Sitting... Waiting... Testing... Testing... Testing... These are what has nearly pushed me over the edge.
What Do You Do For a Living? What Are Your Passions, Hobbies, Passtimes, Dreams and Goals for the Future?
I am currently working as an events coordinator for a local institution. I love cooking, eating, discovering new tastes and flavors, and introducing friends, family and total strangers to beautiful food and new taste experiences. My long term dream is to have a restaurant. For now, I'll settle for working on recipe writing and development, cooking up new ideas, sharing through my blog and social media outlets, and being an awesome person.
About Me: Please use this space to tell the community about you and your unique experience with transplantation:
I am one of the best cooks you will ever meet. All are welcome into my home where smells of goodness will attract and draw you in, to a loving and taste filled kitchen, to sample any number of exquisite cuisines! I am happily partnered, living in an 1884 restored Victorian in a great neighborhood in Cleveland, OH. We have a crazy long-haired dachshund named Boomer and a tuxedo kittie named Tallulah.

Entertainment: What is Your Favorite Type of Music, Bands, Movies, Art, Books, etc.?
I love jazz, especially jazz vocalists (Jane Monheit, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme). Enjoy reading just about anything, but my bedside books include LAROUSSE: GASTRONOMIQUE as well as novels by Ann Patchett and Barbara Kingsolver. I'm an avid fan of art, modern and classical, and enjoy quietly strolling through our local art museum, one of the best in the world.
