About Me: Please use this space to tell the community about you and your unique experience with transplantation:
I was born with a congenital heart defect called tricuspid atresia along with PDA, ASD and Mitral valve prolapse. I had surgery when I was 6 weeks old. I had another one when I was 16 this one was harder I went failure from bleeding in the heart cavity and had to have emergency surgery. I then had surgery again at 20 to revise what they did when I was 16 because the part that was put in had closed to the size of a ball point pen. Then 4 years later the right side of my heart just gave out. I was listed in 1993 and turned down 3 different occasions for various reasons. The doctors did not belive that I would survive since I was in failure in all of my organs. I did it and I survived. I can now work and live a "normal" life! Ha as if, I would not know what that was like I have never been normal. EVER,

Madison is , I think, about 4 hours away. I have been a couple of times, a really pretty river community. You hit the nail on the head, it sucks a lot that the cancer stopped me. I try to see all positives in situations and thank God it was caught very , very early , it was a stage 0 and has been dealt with. My cardiologist just doesn't know yet what the transplant committee will do with it because the normal waiting time would be 5 years. I will know more next Thursday when my next cardiologist appointment is scheduled. She should have all of the reports and recommendations by then.
