Hi everybody
thanks to Barb Witt who answered Diana's question about the longevity of a transplanted organ I read about Quarter Century Club.
It will be 35 years ago (January 7, 1975) that I received a wonderful kidney from a 15 year old girl who died in a car accident with her moped on January 5, 1975.
I accepted my kidney as an adopted child and gave her the name Karin (I like this name, it coms from Katharina, catharsis). When I think of her I touch her and say thank you for doing such a good job. I think that my close emotional relationship helped that Karin wanted to stay with me.
When she was connected with my body I lost 10 kg right away through the good job of loosing urine.
She is wonderful, only 2003 I had pain and went to the hospital and I was told that I had kidney stones (very small ones) but not every doctor could see them. So I don't know what it really was.
Since the beginning I take Prednison and Imurek (Imuran?), Since 2003 7,5mg Prednison and 100mg Imurek.
