About XDx / AlloMap:

Founded in 2000, XDx, Inc. is a molecular diagnostics company based in Brisbane, CA, USA. XDx applies modern genomics technologies to the development of molecular diagnostic assays that translate a patient's immune status into clinically actionable information.

XDx has one marketed product, AlloMap® Molecular Expression Testing, and other products under development. The proprietary molecular expression technology used by XDx to develop AlloMap testing for heart transplant patient management may be applicable to the post-transplant management of recipients of other organs.

The application of gene expression testing to other diseases that involve the activity of the immune system, such as autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases, is also being explored.

Hello Jeff Clardy,

My transplant coordinators got me in touch with XDX (866-939-2945) and I had to fill out a paper (I don't remember exactly what type) and they sent it to my insurance company I believe.  I never payed anything.  Since I am at my 5 yr. mark, I don't have any more biopsies or allomapping!!!

@Stefanie - thank you so much for letting us know about Alex.  Gives me hope that I can survive long term since I got my heart at age 36.

Hi, my son Alex received a heart transplant at the age of 6 months - that was over 21 years ago.  Our transplant center, Loma Linda, started using Allomap last year.  They are now looking at revising their protoccol for 'kids' like Alex who have been post-transplant a long time with no rejections.  For him that means no biopsies the last two years, something we're very happy about.  We've been pleased with Allomap so far - their customer service has been really good.

I agree Jill I am 19 months out and have not had a biopsy since my 9 month it is wonderful but what surprises me is that many Ins Co will not pay for the Allo but they will pay for the biopsy a difference of 10-13K doesnt make sense. Blue Cross seems to be the worse ones about it I know several tx's that are in appeal and litigation for it, When they started my Allo it was a clinical trial and they said they would take care of the expense if the Ins Co would not, so far have not heard any difference to this point, Thank the Lord, What a blessing, With a grateful heart,

Hello all, I was in Cleveland Clinic's trial for allomapping and it is so much better!  I am 5 yrs out now and never rejected.  My last 2 and 1/2 yrs have been allomap.  It was getting very painful for me because of the scar tissue and my nerves were growing back.  I go up to Cleveland tomorrow for my annual cardiac cath and Echo and labwork!  I am praying for Perfect like the last few yrs.!!

Mary, I feel for you. My wife is so stressed during my biopsies too. We could never had made it through without those standing by our bedside during the entire ordeal.

Thank you all.  I plan to never have another dreaded biopsy again, even if I have to go to the U.S. to have allomap (strange name).

My husband has been having AlloMap test for 2 years at Vanderbilt. It is so much easier on him and on me!

I am 6 years out from x-plant and could never understand the invasiveness and attack on my new heart. I have been an allomap patient and proponent for a couple years now. I hope I just received my last biopsy this past March. I can't tell you what allomap means.
