I'm on the brand name drug: Neoral. It's the same as Cyclosporine, although I thought it was a newer drug. I'm new to this "transplant thing", though! New heart: 5/28/10

I've been on cyclo, 50 x2/day, since day one back in "93". Besides the shakes and the skin discoloration and chronic diahrrea, I love it!! HaHaHa..:)

I take gengraf 100mg twice a day. I have had gum surgery several times. I thought about switching to prograf but then decided the devil I know is better than the one I don't. Plus I am doing well and don't want to mess with that. I'll just keep having gum surgery when it gets too bad.

I have used her for 13 years, initially it( gave me hipertricosis hahha I do not even tell him since, I was meeting, but already after a time these effects are passing, up to today I have never had disadvantages with this drug. When I was pregnant they lowered the dose and to the term they re-established it, without problem.
Regards to all and fondness from Chile

I'm on Cyclo., 50mg.x2 & have been for almost 9 years. I didn't do well on Neoral. I was told the pred. caused my "moon" face; weight gain & hairiness. They LIED?! Don't even want to hear that. I've never had a tx prob. & would rather have moon face than risk changing meds "just" for the sake of my vanity. Although... It would be heaven to look "normal, again. Closer to the model I was than the blimp I am now! Started back on my pre-tx diet & am going back in the pool. Hopefully that will help. Any other suggestions? Hugs & Blessings, Paula

Nearly 3 months since my Liver transplant, love the sleep! but boy do those full moons now scare the my kids! They convinced that I'm turning into a were-wolf!!,
I have unbelievable hair growth(my doc said it was a side effect of Cyclosporine after he stopped laughing!!!), he did say that my baldness on my head will not be helped by this drug). Currently taking 200mg in the morning and 200mg at night, I was one of those 1 in a hundred that had major reactions with prograv, I went loony for 2 weeks after my transplant because of it, Onece they switched me to cyclosporin I made a really quick recovery, has anyone else been thru the "looney" phase for more then 24 hours?
