Tracy/Glen Copeland

Tracy took on N. Americas toughest half Ironman and finished 3rd!

1.2 Mile swim 56 mile bike with 6000 ft of climbing and 13.1 mile run. You best be in shape or you won't finish. This day started when sunny sky's and calm winds. The lake was like glass to start the swim. Tracy said her goal for the 1.2 mile swim was 40 minutes she came across the timing pad at 40:17 and in 5th place.

With a good transition, Tracy was on to the 56 mile tough bike course climbing 6000ft over the 56 miles. Tracy managed to gain alot of time on the leaders and putting distace to the women behind her. Tracy came off the bike with the third fastest time and in third place.

At about mile seven on the run Tracy caught the second place women who was walking and had cracked. After 5 hours of raceing Tracy found herself in second place on the course 10 minutes behind the leader. With about four miles from the finish Tracy was passed by the third place women, she kept pace with her but just could not overtake her at the end and finished in third place 1 minute and twenty four seconds out of second place.

Tracy finished in third place with a time of 6 Hours Thirty four minutes and Forty Four seconds. We were so happy because Tracy's donor family came out to cheer her on at the race.
Tracy recieved her third place finish award from Dave Scott 6 time Ironman World Champion.

Hey Holly Girl! How are you? Thank you so much for your kind words. I never know that Glen posts these until I receive a message from someone. He (Glen) truly encourages and pushes me to continue to train and do my best. He really is an awesome coach and keeps me going. I was truly blessed to have my donor family, John, Kathy and Lynn in Las Vegas to cheer me on. It was an incredible event and I feel blessed to be able to participate. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Christmas and Holiday season! Take care. T
