I have recovered from my kidney transplant 2 and a half years ago and I have been checking into getting LIFE insurance and I keep getting turned down. I wonder if I am wasting my time or have I just not found the right company yet?
Has anyone had any luck getting life insurance after a successful transplant?

They won't even cover somebody with High B/P, let alone us. :(

Permalink Reply by Gerald M Singer on April 23, 2011 at 2:57pm Yes thats a good idea. I am looking for a job now, so that will be something I will consider. I was thinking of insurance independant of employment too, but I will try once I make it to the 5 year mark as you suggested. Thanks.

good luck you find anything that accepts us, please let me know. I should of sued afquack when i was told i was declined because i was a combat disabled veteran.....

Permalink Reply by Gerald M Singer on August 2, 2011 at 8:35am I would take that deal. Maybe a little less coverage to save money. So I will wait a few year and try again or try to get a job that has life insurance as a benefit. Thanks everyone for the info. I hope it helps someone else too.

Permalink Reply by Marina on August 4, 2011 at 9:33am A couple yrs ago I got a insurance offer from CSAA (or AAA, the car, home and life insurance).
I thought I'd give it a shot, since nobody else would take me.
I sent in the preliminary questinaire.
I received a letter saying that based on my medical condition (Diabetes) they could NOT take me at that time.
So, I KNOW that the second they see TRANSPLANT they will toss my app in the trash. :(
