TransplantCafe.com - The Gift of eLife!

Hi all,
Just had 2nd anniversary of my double lung tx from Club Columbia in NYC.
Before, I was wheelchair bound, and could barely walk to the bathroom.
I was on 6-10 liters of oxygen 24/7 and was well on my way to join my mother and uncle who both died from COPD (emphysema).
Now I am feeling great, and just returned from a vacation in the mountains of WV and NC.
They also recently opened a "Planet Fitness" near me with $10/month memberships, so I now have a local gym to go to and build my strength up. They are opening these gyms all over the US.

Anyway, my story is below in two docs I put on Google Docs for anyone who is interested.
Also below, I show my web site which has many useful links and documents for pre and post lung transplant patients and recipients.
Good breathing and Happy Spring to all.

I'm so glad you didn't join your mom and uncle and are doing so well-I am just at the beginning of 6 mos into my liver transplant and just rejoined the gym I had to put on hold. After a month in the hospital I could barely walk. Muscles attrophy so quickly. Now I am walking 2-3 miles a day.Stay in touch----Margee

I love the smell of freshly baked cookies (preferably chocolate chip), roses and daisies, newly bathed babies/toddlers (LOL!), and soothin hand lotions. Who were some of your celebrity crushes when you were a teenager? Some of mine were: Fred Savag…

I love to swim. When given the opportunity, I'm in the water daily. What about fragrances? Which ones do you really like? ( I love freesias and the smell of bread baking)
