I'm brand new to the site and thought I would say hello. On October 18th I will be one year post kidney transplant and I can honestly say that the whole experience was the greatest thing to happen to me.

I had a great group of friends and family that came to my rescue, over 10 people of 15 that were matches, and in the end I ended up saving the lives of two extremely important people in my life. During their final donor testing it was discovered that both had very rare forms of gastrointestinal tumors that would require surgery.

Since my transplant I've gone back to work as a firefighter/paramedic, gotten into the best shape of my life, run a half-marathon, and continue to train hard for triathlons and a full marathon on 2009.

Hope to get the chance to talk to the lot of ya and share experiences!

Congradulations and welcome to the site! I hope with all that athletic ability that you will decide to join team IL for the 2010 U.S. Transplant games or even Team USA for the 2009 World games.
Wow! I am so glad to hear that you have done so well since your transplant. You really are an inspiration. I am glad too to hear that you had so many people who were so eager to help you out and that such good resulted from it too. Thank you for sharing your story, and I hope that many more blessings will come your way.

Warm regards,
Bobbiejo
