I'm going and it will be my first games. I can't wait. I am running the 5k and 400 M as well as Volleyball. I have my Pirates tickets for Friday-see you all there.

I will be attending the games from Team Oklahoma. This is my 4th games to attend and I am excited. I have never been to Pennsylvania, and we have our tickets to the Pirates/Cardinals game! Wahoo!

Gold Coast is Like Miami Beach.

Hi i was wondering what you think about my problem with the games and if you would spread the word and help me.My daughter had heart transplant at age 13 months after taking cyclosporine for 10 years she had kidney failure and then waited almost 3 more years while on dialis for a kidney.She got a kidney at age 13 years .She is now 20 years old but she is the sise of a 12 year old and also has been diagnosed as being mentally like a 12 year old.So we asked the games what age group she could compete in and they said 11-13 year olds but that she couldnt get any medals.Do you think that is fair? I think it is selfish and unfair.I think they are discriminating against her.I dont understand their reasoning.But i am asking your opinion and if you can help us by writing the NKF about it thats if you agree with me thanks lisa hartley

I think you are absolutely right to advocate for your daughter. though I'm not sure what age group. I think if she competes w/ the 20 year old age category; she should qualify for medals.
In the end, it is all about showcasing transplantation and living life to the fullest- not bringing home Gold.
Do what you think is right for your daughter, and then stand by your decision.

Well they will let her win medals if she competes with the 17-29 year olds but how fair is that when she is mentally 12 and physically 12? Would you feel like it was fair to compete and win agaisnt a mentally retarded person? I sure hope you wouldnt think that was fair.i would be asshamed to do that .And if it isnt about the medals then why they have them ?

so you think a mentally retarded person whom is 20 but diagnosed as a 12 year old should compete with 17-29 year olds? Would you feel good about competing against her? Would you feel like she was the same as you since she was diagnosed as aq 12 year old and is the size of a 12 year old? I would hope not i sure as hell would not even compete agaisnt this person and try to win because i dont think it would be right or fair
